Federal Judicial Ethics: Applying the Essentials

Friday, September 6, 2024, Noon—1:00 p.m.

Ever wondered if you could buy a judge a birthday present? Whether your firm should invite a judge to attend an event? Want to know the latest on judges and the use of generative AI? Please join us as we welcome Sarah M. R. Cravens, Visiting Professor of Law at Washington and Lee University School of Law, to discuss these and other questions concerning the Code of Conduct for United States Judges. Participants will learn more about the ethical standards for federal judges concerning judicial integrity and independence, permissible extra-judicial activities, and other issues to allow practitioners to better interact with the judiciary. This luncheon is free for members and will be in the jury assembly room of the Bryan Simpson U.S. Courthouse. You can register on our website, or by emailing Maria Daniels, admin@jaxfedbar.org. Please be sure to note if you have any special dietary needs.
