State of the District with Chief Judge Howard

Tuesday, January 28, Noon—1:00 p.m.
Open for Registration

Please join us for our annual State of the District luncheon featuring the Chief Judge of the Middle District of Florida, the Honorable Marcia Morales Howard.  This year’s State of the District will offer a look at the past, present, and future of the Court.  We will hear from U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Jacob Brown, Chair of the Court’s Bench Bar Fund History Subcommittee, on the ways the Court is working to preserve its history.  His presentation will feature a brief oral history on the late Judge Melton, given by Judge Brown’s former intern, Emma Gaul.  Chief Judge Howard will then discuss the present state of our District, including the challenges faced by our District and the many ways the Court is working to address those challenges.  And last, we will be inspired about the future of our Court when we hear from Amber Rumancik, our Community Outreach Coordinator, who will give an update on the Court’s many civics education and outreach initiatives.  This event will take place in the jury assembly room of the Bryan Simpson United States Courthouse and include a catered lunch.  You can RSVP through our website, www.jaxfedbar.org, or by sending an email to admin@jaxfedbar.org. We hope you will join us to learn more about the happenings around the Middle District and what is on the horizon for the Jacksonville Division.  Please be sure to note if you have any special dietary needs.
